Yellow Pages VS Google
How do you spend your advertising budget?
If you’re still paying for a large yellow pages or super pages advertising contract, you may as well be lighting your money on fire… at least you’d get some warmth out of it. Don’t just take our word for it, check out this article in Forbes: Customers Don’t Read the Yellow Pages Anymore. In this 2011 article you’ll see that the statistics are overwhelming – the printed yellow pages are a dead end of advertising.
Now your yellow pages rep is calling you with their high-pressure sales tactics trying to convince you to sign a contract for a very expensive listing on their online version of the book, SuperPages, or whatever they’re calling it these days… But, before you sign any contract, ask yourself one important question: Do you think people like doing more work? or less work?… Correct, it’s a no brainer. People will do what’s easiest, so why would you want a listing in an online version of the old book where they have to search for you amongst all of your competitors’ identical listings? Why would anyone do that when they could simply ‘google’ it, and find a business in the results?… not another list of results!
